What do I need to be a Referee?
1. Volunteer Form - all referees (youth or adult) must complete and electronically sign. Volunteer forms are completed every fiscal soccer year (beginning fall season). Youth referees are required to carry a copy with their gear.
2. Safe Haven Training – a one-time training that needs to be completed prior to first game. It is recommended to complete safe haven before taking first referee course.
3. Safe Sport Training - federally mandated for all sports that are represented in the Olympics.
4. CDC Concussion Training –state of Michigan mandated training for all youth sports.
5. Sudden Cardiac Arrest
6. Training:
· U8 Official – certified for U8 (under 8 years old) and younger games. (At least 10)
· Assistant Referee – certified for U10 and younger games as an assistant. (At least 12)
· Basic Referee – certified for U10 and younger games as center or assistant. (At least 12)
